Samsung-Era Harman Sales and Growth Statistics
Samsung reports Harman as an operating division after the 2016 acquisition. These figures are not standalone Harman-company filings, and Samsung reports the division in Korean won.
| Period | Harman sales | Share of Samsung net sales |
|---|---|---|
| 2023 | KRW 14.4 trillion | 5% |
| 2024 | KRW 14.3 trillion | 4% |
| 2025 | KRW 15.8 trillion | 4% |
Source: Facts & Figures | Digital Library | Sustainability | Samsung Electronics.
The endpoint series shows Harman sales increasing from KRW 14.4 trillion in 2023 to KRW 15.8 trillion in 2025. The intervening 2024 figure was KRW 14.3 trillion, while the reported share of Samsung net sales moved from 5% in 2023 to 4% in both 2024 and 2025.
Samsung’s consolidated sales were KRW 258.9 trillion in 2023, KRW 300.9 trillion in 2024 and KRW 333.6 trillion in 2025, providing parent-company context rather than a standalone Harman comparison. The sales-by-division figures are therefore useful for scale and direction, but they do not establish Harman’s independent company-level margin or regional mix.
Historical Harman Revenue and Profitability Data
Before the acquisition, Harman International reported consolidated results in U.S. dollars for fiscal years ending June 30. Its sales rose across the three-year period shown below.
| Fiscal year ended June 30 | Sales | Gross profit | Operating income |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2014 | $5.348 billion | — | — |
| 2015 | $6.155 billion | — | — |
| 2016 | $6.912 billion | $2.093 billion | $580.027 million |

The 2016 filing is a pre-Samsung acquisition company filing. Its sales, gross profit and operating income should therefore be read as historical standalone Harman International figures, not automatically blended with later Samsung division sales.
The three reported sales observations were $5.348 billion for FY2014, $6.155 billion for FY2015 and $6.912 billion for FY2016. Only FY2016 has the gross-profit and operating-income observations included here, so the table does not imply missing years were zero or unavailable in the underlying filing.
Harman Segment Revenue and EBITDA Statistics
Harman’s fiscal 2016 segment data shows how revenue and non-GAAP EBITDA were distributed across Connected Car, Lifestyle Audio, Professional Solutions and Connected Services.
| FY2016 segment | Sales | EBITDA | EBITDA margin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connected Car | $3.102 billion | $442.3 million | 14.3% |
| Lifestyle Audio | $2.138 billion | $329.3 million | 15.4% |
| Professional Solutions | $1.014 billion | $122.3 million | 12.1% |
| Connected Services | $694.3 million | $84.7 million | 12.2% |

The EBITDA figures and margins are non-GAAP measures. The source notes that the measures exclude acquisition, restructuring and non-recurring items, so they are not equivalent to the reported FY2016 operating income of $580.027 million.
The investor presentation also reported LTM measures at its 2016 presentation point: Connected Car revenue of $7.0 billion and a 12.3% EBITDA margin, Lifestyle Audio revenue of $2.292 billion, and Professional Solutions revenue of $1.008 billion. These LTM figures use the presentation’s definitions and period, so they should not be treated as identical to the fiscal-year table.

For the three months ended June 30, 2024, Samsung also reported Harman depreciation of KRW 88.150 billion and amortization of KRW 55.240 billion. For the six months ended June 30, 2024, depreciation was KRW 173.547 billion and amortization was KRW 108.492 billion.
In the first quarter of 2024, Harman revenue was KRW 3,200.3 billion and operating profit was KRW 240.8 billion. Samsung said Harman contributed 4.5% of Samsung revenue in that quarter; the organization-level result is not the same reporting presentation as a standalone company filing.

Harman Regional Context and Workforce Statistics
Harman-only regional sales are not supplied in the Samsung regional figures. Those numbers describe Samsung’s parent-company regions and should be used only as global operating context.
| Samsung region | 2025 sales | Share or scope |
|---|---|---|
| Americas | KRW 133.3 trillion | 40% of Samsung net sales |
| Europe | KRW 53.3 trillion | Parent-company regional context |
| Korea | KRW 46.6 trillion | Parent-company regional context |
| Asia and Africa | KRW 100.4 trillion | China combined into Asia and Africa in the 2024 report |
Source: Facts & Figures | Digital Library | Sustainability | Samsung Electronics.
Samsung Americas sales were KRW 92.1 trillion in 2023 and KRW 118.8 trillion in 2024, before reaching KRW 133.3 trillion in 2025. These are not Harman-only regional sales.
The pre-acquisition 2016 filing counted approximately 26,000 Harman full-time employees on June 30, 2016. Approximately 7,300 were located in North America and approximately 18,700 were outside North America.
The FY2016 investor presentation described approximately 29,000 FTEs. The difference from the 10-K’s approximately 26,000 full-time employees may reflect different definitions or reporting dates, so the two workforce figures should not be merged.

Connected-Car Reach, Backlog and Acquisition Statistics
Harman’s 2016 investor presentation placed the connected-car business in a larger industry setting. It showed connected-car industry revenue at $24.1 billion for FY2016, while noting that the definition and source methodology were not reproduced in the presentation data summarized here.
The same presentation reported Harman Connected Car FY2016 backlog of $13.6 billion. Backlog is an order measure, not recognized revenue, so it should not be substituted for sales in the revenue tables.
The presentation also reported long-term endpoint measures for FY2010 to FY2016:
- Revenue rose from $3.4 billion in FY2010 to $6.9 billion in FY2016.
- Non-GAAP EBITDA rose from $241 million in FY2010 to $836 million in FY2016.
- EPS rose from $0.85 in FY2010 to $6.24 in FY2016.
- Harman reported a five-year total shareholder return of 68% for the five years ended June 30, 2016.

Samsung agreed to acquire Harman for approximately $8.0 billion in the November 2016 announcement. That announced transaction value is historical and is not a current valuation.
